It had been a year since Lightning had saved the small wolf pup from the poacher car. And he had to admit, parent hood wasn't easy. First there was the murmurs and whispers. A Car father to a wolf? Then there where the jeers and snipes from some of the other racers, about him being soft and a push over. But Lightning didn't care. Every day he grew more and more attatched to Senka, and she grew to see him as her father. Whilst Lightning trained for his races, Senka would sit at the side and watched, always wagging her tail when Lightning would look over and wink at her. Everyday she understood the world more and more, and was incredibly bright, understanding the world better than some cars could. It was after a couple of months OF Senka moving into Lightning's life that a few other cars came forward with wolves of their own, and made permenant residence in Radiator Springs, allowing Senka to grow up with other wolves. Lightning knew that these other wolves where actually race wolves in training, and worried that as they all grew, they would start to leave her behind. But he need not have. Senka was still able to keep up with ease. It was now, as Doc was shouting at him from the sidelines, that Lightning was giving his all into the dirt track he regularly practiced on. He narrowed his eyes and twisted his tyres, his weight on one side as he sailed across the dirt. He grinned, as he corrected him self and zoomed forward, away to complete another lap. Senka was watching from the sidelines as usual, barking and yapping as he went past. Her ears flicked backward as she heard the approaching noise of paws on gravel and recognized the trotting patterns of her child hood friends, Feyra and Kadesh. Senka scented them pretty quickly after and twisted her head, her tail wagging at their arrival.
"Hey Senka! We figured you would be here!" Kadesh yapped, leaping over to Senka and butting her gently on the head, before Senka leapt around them.
"Well, I wanted to show my support to dad" Senka responded once they calmed down. Senka looked toward Lightning making the same corner again and smiled.
"You're here every day though! He wouldn't mind if you missed ONE training session!" Feyra replied, shaking her yellow neck fur.
"I know, but i want to" Senka said, sitting down again and watching the racecar. He had stopped now, and Doc was talking quietly to him about something. It seemed though he was gathering a crowd now. It wasn't unusual, watching the famous Lightning McQueen train was always worth watching!! The three she wolves sat ans watched as he prepared to race again, his V-8 engine revving loudly and causing a cheer from the crowd. From the corner of her eye, Senka saw Strip Weathers, aka, The King, also watchign from the side lines. Senka nudged her friends and notioned toward him, receiving an exted tail wag from them. As Lightning sped off again, his wheels spinning, Feyra's ears pricked up.
"I have an idea!" She said, giving the girls a knowing look. Both Kadesh and Senka looked at each other and rolled their eyes. They didn't always turn out well!
"When Lightning comes back round, we run with him, it will really test our abilities as racers!" Feyra yapped, wagging her tail. Kadesh nodded eagerly. Senka looked down slightly. SHe wasn't a race wolf, and she knew that. She would only get left behind eventually. SHe pinned her ears back and looked up slightly after a few moments, realising the girls were staring at her. She looked from both of them and opened her mouth to speak.
"Now, before you say you can't, you're fast Senka!!! If i didn't know better, i would say you were a race wolf too!" Kadesh said, nudging Senka. Senka smiled but said nothing. They were just being nice she thought. SHe watched Lightning go past the halfway point and knew that she would have to make a choice. She didn't want to be the stick in the mud, so she sighed.
"Fine, come on then" Senka said, leaping down from her ledge and trotting down to where Doc stood, just beside the race track. Doc smiled at her, but continued to shout out things to Lightning, offering encouragement and critisicm. Lightning came storming towards them, and saw Kadesh and Feyra tense up, ready to spring forward. Senka did the same, willing for them to take the lead. They were the ones with the training, not her. As soon as Lightning was pretty much going past, the wolves leapt away, galloping full pelt beside him. Lightning looked at them in suprise, but soon smiled, seeing Senka amoung them. The wolves kept pace with Lightning, their tails streaming, hearts pumping and their paws thudding on the floor. About halfway round the track, Senka started to fall behind, and felt herself tire slightly. She looked ahead to see Lightning, Feyra and Kadesh get further and further away. She flicked her ears when Doc called her name.
"PUT THE POWER IN YOUR LEGS, NOT YOUR CHEST!" Senka stared at him for a moment, before she looked ahead again. She frowned and snarled, closing her eyes and using his advice. She started to build up speed, her legs carrying faster and faster.... Until she felt like she was flying!! As she galloped forward her tongue stuck out, her breath in her lungs, her ears pinned back, she felt amazing. So this is what it was like to be a race wolf!!! SHe continued forward and catching up with the others easily, before appraoching on the inside. She felt the excitement surge through her as she once again claimed her position by Lightnings side, and his look of approval encouraged her. She then took another deep breath and began to draw forward ahead of the others. Lightning had a suprised look upon his face and pushed himself forward, meeting her again. Senka smirked, pulling forward again. Lightning and Senka got faster and faster, the finish line rapidly approaching. They both glanced at each other and both went forward together, crossing the finish together. Senka slowed down as another cheer erupted from the crowd, filling her with pride. She panted heavily, her friends running to meet her.
"I can't beleive it!! Did you see how fast you went!!" Feyra barked, leaping around.
"I.... suppose i did..." Senka said through pants, glancing at Lightning, and seeing a beaming smile on his face. She grinned back.
"That was impressive" Doc commented to her, causing her to wag her tail happily. Over in the far corner, Strip watched with a thoughtful expression, before turning around and rolling away to make an important phone call.
So the background killed me!!! XD Short chapter this time guys, its really late and i did this in one go!!! XD Night for me i think!!

THAT was PERFECT! Not only did you capture the emotions of racing perfectly, you captured the personalities of my characters almost to the T, and that's something because they're hard to write for for me even sometimes.
